Spring 2026 - Connie Economy
• May, 154th Commencement Ceremony

This award recognizes outstanding contributions to the Discipline or the Department made by the members of our faculty and academic excellence in the teaching of Philosophy and Ethics at St. Philip's College.

Connie Economy graduated from
Alamo Heights High School in May of 1964 and from
San Antonio College in January of 1966.

While a student at San Antonio College, she was inducted into the Sigma Tau Sigma honorary social sciences fraternity by College President Paul Green.

Also while at San Antonio College Connie became a member of the Cheshyre Cheese Club, the oldest student organization at San Antonio College - now over 100 years old.

SAC - Cheshyre Cheese Club

"One of the 1st clubs founded at SAC, this 99-year-old club celebrates human expression and creativity. Our purpose is to reward excellence in scholarship and leadership, to foster social development and kindness, and to inspire creativity in the humanities, not unlike the supper club of Dr. Samuel Johnson organized at Ye Cheshire Cheese Pub in London during the 18th century. Students from various intellectual and artistic interests such as Philosophy, Art, Music, Archeology, Anthropology, Communication and Media studies, culture, people, literature, language, theater, and so on, are welcome!"
