Over the last seven years, St. Philip's College has partnered with the Corrymeela Community on two successful grant applications to the Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence (S-I-R) Program, and Migdalia Garcia has been an integral part of the team from the beginning.
In 2015, St. Philip's College sponsored a Study Abroad Program to the Corrymeela Peace and Reconciliation Centre in Ballycastle, Northern Ireland, where our students learned from our future Fulbright scholars Richard and Yvonne Naylor and Derick and Dot Wilson. Migdalia was one of the three academic instructors and a faculty co-leader of the entire program. In 2016, St. Philip's College hosted Richard and Yvonne Naylor from the Corrymeela Peace and Reconciliation Centre in Ballycastle, Northern Ireland as Fulbright Scholars-in-Residence, and Migdalia was part of the team with overall responsibility for the fellowship. In 2019~2020, St. Philip's College hosted Derick and Dot Wilson from the Corrymeela Peace and Reconciliation Centre in Ballycastle, Northern Ireland, and again given her experience in the Peace and Conflict Studies program at Northwest Vista College, Migdalia was involved in the academic aspects of the Fulbright residency. |
