Distinguished Visiting Scholar Awards

Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Program

The Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence (S-I-R) Program assists U.S. higher education institutions in expanding programs of academic exchange, by supporting non-U.S. scholars through grants for teaching at institutions that might not have a strong international component and/or serve minority audiences.

In recognition of their distinguished service to the College and the Greater San Antonio Community, we bestowed this award to:

In Spring of 2022, the St. Philip's College Philosophy Faculty gave special recognition to Migdalia Garcia, our long-time partner from Northwest Vista College.

In Fall of 2021, the St. Philip's College Philosophy Faculty gave special recognition to the Corrymeela Community, our long-time partner and the home of our previous Fulbright Scholars-in-Residence.

In Spring of 2021, the St. Philip's College Philosophy Faculty gave special recognition to Dr. Trey Guinn, Associate Professor of Communication Arts at the University of the Incarnate Word, and the President of the San Antonio Chapter of the Fulbright Association.

In AY 2019~2020, St. Philip's College hosted Derick and Dot Wilson from the Corrymeela Peace and Reconciliation Centre in Ballycastle, Northern Ireland.

In Spring of 2016, St. Philip's College hosted Richard and Yvonne Naylor from the Corrymeela Peace and Reconciliation Centre in Ballycastle, Northern Ireland.
