At commencement each year, the Philosophy Faculty at St. Philip’s College bestows an award on a member of our community for their work supporting international education or service. This year’s recipient is Randall Dawson, the Vice President for Academic Success at St. Philip's College. Mr. Dawson regularly represent St. Philip's College at community events, and has been recognized for his outreach efforts to build collaborations with Community organizations local government and other colleges and universities. Most importantly Mr. Dawson is passionate about student success. He values integrity, innovation, and student-centered learning. |
In his role as the Chief Academic Officer, he provides stewardship for all faculty in the areas of instruction and curriculum and reports directly to the President of the College.
Mr. Dawson's Community College work experience began at St. Philip's College in 1997, when he was hired as a member of the Kinesiology faculty and the Intramurals Coordinator, then became Kinesiology Program Director, followed by the Chair of Health Sciences, and next the Dean of Arts and Sciences division. As Chief Academic Officer, Mr. Dawson is responsible for the College's compliance with: the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges' core requirements and comprehensive standards; Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board mandates; the academic course guide manual and the guidelines for instructional programs in workforce education and workforce education course manual; Alamo Colleges District Board of Trustees policies and procedures; as well as 17 regional program accrediting bodies. |
